Mrs. Shyla Urban

Dear Wellington High School Students and Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I hope you and your family had an amazing summer filled with fun experiences, lasting memories, and plenty of relaxation. It is with great excitement that I welcome both our returning students and those who are joining the Wellington High School family for the first time.

The start of a new school year is always filled with possibility. It brings new classes, new friendships, new experiences, and countless opportunities to learn and grow. Whether you are beginning your freshman year, preparing for your final year as a senior, or somewhere in between, this is your opportunity to set new goals, embrace challenges, and make this year your best one yet.

At Wellington High School, we are committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed. Our outstanding teachers and staff have been working throughout the summer preparing classrooms, refining instruction, and planning meaningful learning experiences that will challenge, inspire, and support every student. We look forward to partnering with families to ensure each student reaches their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.

This year, I encourage every student to become involved in our school community. Attend school consistently, participate in clubs, athletics, fine arts, and extracurricular activities, build positive relationships, and take advantage of the many opportunities available. Some of the most meaningful high school memories are made outside the classroom, and being involved is one of the best ways to develop leadership skills, confidence, and lifelong friendships.

Families continue to be one of our greatest partners in education. Your encouragement, communication, and support play an essential role in your student's success. We encourage you to stay connected through our newsletters, school website, and social media accounts. As we begin another school year, let us all commit to treating one another with kindness and respect as we continue to build a school culture where ALL students feel valued, supported, and inspired.

Thank you for entrusting us with your student's education. It is truly a privilege to serve the students and families of Wellington High School. I am looking forward to an incredible year filled with learning, growth, school spirit, and success.

Welcome back, Dukes! Let's make the 2026–2027 school year one to remember.

Go Dukes!
